Useful Tips. Do not send money in advance, especially oversea. Sign, if possible, a written contract with the vendor / seller. If you buy from a company they must give you a receipt. Do not ever disclose your account number, credit card number or other personal information. Pay, if possible, only by check or by bank transfer. If you accept payments by check, ask the bank that issued the check if the check is covered. If the goods have a serial number (or plate) you can check with the State Police if it is stolen or not. Endangered Animals: All information on the CITES website. Dogs and cats: do not buy cats less than three months old and dogs less than two months old. Dogs must be already registered at the Registry dog by microchip or legible tattoo.   Always use caution and common sense!
